The Little Barn that could! Lighting up the night sky.
After careful examination of how to do bigger... better, a few adjustments were in place and the second barn sale was had. Once again, we were faced with warm, beautiful weather on Monday to colder temps and even rain on Friday. Though not as fierce as the March sale, it was still cold. Hmmm..... maybe I need to cancel my Fridays or let someone else choose dates for me! Saturday was warmer and Sunday it was beautiful once again. There are simply some things in life you cannot control... the weather and the crowds are two of those things.
The peeps did come through and many made their rounds to several events within the area. Sparta was bustling with many activities going on within the community!
One of the changes made was having a professional photographer come on board. Brandon Malone is a newcomer to the White County area who recently built a top notch barn studio "up on the mountain." What an addition he was and has an incredible eye. He did fantastic and even more so for never hearing of a barn sale before. He captured the essence of becca Anne Barn Sale behind the lens in a stunning way. Brandon said he enjoyed meeting the community, vendors, and taking pictures for all. He went above and beyond making sure each vendor got all the pictures he took of their booth. I appreciated his talents so much. As you look at these pictures, remember that this is Brandon's work. Look at more of his beautiful work and studio by visiting his Facebook page Brandon Malone Photography and/or setting up an appointment. You will not be disappointed.

Working hard in our little-converted sunroom/concession stand
The food vendor area was changed to around our backyard and Open Air Cafe was born. There, my father and mother in law, pitched in to sell food out of our sunroom. The windows helped lend a hand to a perfect set up and it was converted into our little concession area. I now feel for food vendors and what must be done to comply with health inspections. That was an incredible feat. Much effort was had and a 99 was made!

Poppie's Boutique was a hit!
I was also had two wonderful helpers to get the sale ready beforehand doing much yard work and clean up. My eldest daughter and her boyfriend came in just in the knick of time from North Carolina to help prepare for this sale. The were especially great help who put up with a lot of commands. Hopefully, their Six Flags season passes and food passes get used a lot and they can enjoy all that hard work. My younger two kids enjoyed taking the money for the food concession and hope to work their more later... maybe.

becca Anne Barn Sale promotional bags added this time.
For the spring sale, we had postcards and a great media presence in some magazines and newspapers. Along with those printed materials, we added TV and becca Anne Barn Sale promotional bags, along with T-Shirts. More signs were made and social media was added. The Facebook contest continued as well, all in efforts to get the word out about this great sale with great vendors! For the Spring '16 sale radio advertisement will be available as well as continuing the others mentioned!
Great Friend and Mentor, Deborah West of Deb's One of a Kind
One of the best changes I enjoyed was being able to visit more this time and talking to vendors more! What had changed the last sale is from seeing vendors out and about at other shows, I was able to know them better this time around. They are now not only vendors but are now friends and even mentors! However, I also loved having time to speak to the new vendors also. Each and every vendor (artist/crafters/junkers) is fantastic in their own way. They each have their own story and love for their talents. To know them is what makes the work that is placed in it and wanting to continue all the more meaningful.
Thank you my sweet vendors!

Central View Elementary taking up admission for their cause
Something that didn't change was the giving of the admission fees. 100 % of fees went to a civic charity of choice. This was just a way to thank you and give back to my community. A different sort of ministry. Our first sale, Spring '15 Cassville Volunteer Fire Department was able to receive around $1700! For this sale, Central View Elementary received around $1600 which includes a silent auction our vendors participated in. We have been thankful that that money was able to be used for the good of our community in providing equipment, resources, and other needed items not covered by State and Federal money. The next recipient will be announced at a later time.

Matilda Jane did not disappoint with Sparta's local rep. Leslie Cravens
Once again evaluations will continue to build and improve each and every barn sale. A few changes for the Spring sale will be one flat fee rate of $3, longer hours, the radio ads, and much more. Once again, I am hopeful the weather will be fantastic this time as we chance another March date. This is purposely done a week before Easter to allow last minute shoppers to find outfits, Easter goodies, and usher in the spring season.
